Contact the Editorial Desk
One mailbox, read by the editorial desk. Corrections are the most useful thing you can send.
Last updated October 16, 2026
The editorial desk's email address is shown as plain text in the Correspondence section of the footer.
The page also includes a local contact form. Submitting it only displays the editorial desk's email address as a reminder; it does not open an email application, send a message, or store the form fields. To contact the desk, copy the mailbox address into an email client.
Corrections
This is the message the desk most wants to receive. If an article states a figure that is wrong, misreads a cited document, attributes something to the wrong institution, or cites a page that no longer says what the article claims, please say so.
A useful correction report contains three things:
- the article title or its address on this site
- the specific sentence or figure that is wrong
- what the correct position is, and ideally where that can be checked
Substantive corrections are made in the article itself and the article's updated date changes. The Editorial Standards page explains the review process behind that.
Sourcing questions
Every article ends with a Sources block listing what it was built from. If a citation is unclear, if a linked source has moved, or if you want to know which source supports a particular claim, ask through the form or the mailbox. Each article's sources are recorded internally against the specific claims they support, so that question can usually be answered precisely.
Permissions
Short quotation with attribution and a link needs no permission. Requests to republish or translate article text should be asked about first. Cover photographs have their own source terms, separate from the publication's article rights. The Terms of Use page sets out the boundaries.
Suggestions for coverage
Suggestions are read with interest, particularly when they come with a documented source. The publication's constraint is not enthusiasm for a topic but whether there is a specification, a standard, a study, or an archive record that can carry it. A suggestion that names such a document is far more likely to become an article than one that does not.
What this mailbox is not for
- Recipe troubleshooting for a particular bake. Conditions in your kitchen are not visible from here, and guessing at them would not help.
- Food safety, medical, or dietary questions. Those need a qualified source with knowledge of your circumstances.
- Marketing, link exchanges, guest post offers, and paid placement. We consider commercial enquiries only when they preserve editorial independence; any paid relationship is clearly labelled.
Response
The form is a prompt only and does not send or store messages. To contact the desk, use the plain-text address in the Correspondence section of the footer. Messages are read by one editorial desk, not a support team, so no response time is promised. Correction reports are prioritised over everything else. Correspondence is used only to reply and to record any resulting correction, is never added to a mailing list, and is never passed to third parties.
Corrections
Include the article title, the claim that needs review, and a source where possible.
